Self-Portrait Thursday: Anyone Can Be Ugly

I don't mind being ugly
as long as I'm happy
as when I'm happy
I don't look so ugly

I don't mind if I don't look good
as long as my heart is well
as if my heart is well
I look better than a pretty but evil chick

I don't really care about my looks
but I care how other sees me through
for someday I will grow old
and nothing will be left, but the inner me

I can't be too ugly
when I don't have a wicked heart
but anyone can be very ugly
when the beauty is fake

I don't like to be ugly
even though I don't have a pretty face
so I try to be a better person
even though I sometimes get upset

But really,

Actually I don't really mind being ugly
because I actually don't have a beautiful face

I'm happy to be not beautiful
as long as I am well and I am loved well

"But you're not ugly
You're not beautiful, either
You're just unique.", some people told me
and "unique" is another word for "ugly"

"You're my child and you're not ugly."
That's what my Mom told me
no child is ugly to their mother
even a monkey is cute to its mommy

(but when I am beautiful
it's because you make me feel so...)
